Underprivileged and talented people of our society live amongst us, within the community that was denied basic rights in the past. Today Free State Stars FC stands proud to be a success of this society. The same society stands fast in support for Free State Stars.

These rights stretched from every sector of our lives and touched each and everyone in the formal and the informal sector, from agriculture to commerce. One of these sectors where we were disadvantaged was in sports. Sports has always played a special role in the development of players and will continue to do so for some time to come.

We are a club that believes strongly in the youth of this country and we have taken players from some of the most poverty stricken environments and helped them realize their dreams of becoming football stars. Free State Stars has produced some of South Africa's best players. We have
produced players who still contribute to our football fraternity. Some of our former players are national coaches.

We have to take a close look at how we deliver the game to the next generation. We must consider ourselves as custodians of these children coming to form the future of South Africa, the future of the next generation of footballers. We as the administrators of football together with corporate South Africa have a duty to empower this generation, to inspire them to greater heights.

The Free State has a world of potential but sadly, due to a lack of infrastructure, finance, and expertise we have been restricted to exploit this vital valuable resource. This wealth of potential will be left in abundance if we don't invest in our youth .

The Free State Stars Academy’s vision is to develop young South African talent to ultimately play in the ABSA Premier League(PSL) for the first team, South African Football Association’s(SAFA) development structures and internationally.
Free State Stars development Academy comprises of under 17, under 19 structures with players based locally in Bethlehem and the surrounding towns.
Free State Stars aims to introduce the under 15 structure very soon as it is our dream as Free State Stars to comprise of all different development structures (u/10 – u/19) in our academy.
