Free State Stars assistant coach Themba Sithole couldn’t have wished for a better Nedbank Cup draw. Speaking to Freestatestars.com, Sithole cited that being drawn against Sivutsa Stars was the best draw they could ever get.
"I must admit this is the best draw one could ever wish for,” Sithole said. “We are not going to take them (Sivutsa) lightly. We are professionals and we respect them. We are going all out for a kill.”
Sithole, who’s been a member the club’s technical team for years now, warned against complacency. In previous editions of this tournament a number of big names fell at the hands of small and unfancied clubs from lower leagues.
Kaizer Chiefs were the last team to suffer this calamity when they were knocked of the competition by little-known Baroka FC in the 2011 edition of the completion.

" Looking into the history books of this competition one realises we are always drawn against a competitive PSL team like your Chiefs and Ajax Cape Town in our Last 32, so this is the perfect chance for our strikers to score many goals and make money for themselves by winning the competition top goal scorer,” said Sithole.
According to the highly optimistic Sithole, Stars have a good chance to “to go beyond the semifinals in this competition, which has been eluding us for some time. I think we have played in two semifinals of this Nedbank Cup since its inception in 2008.”
